From Fort William, I drove along Loch Ness, but did not see the Loch
Ness Monster and went to Nairn, a town on the east coast of Scotland.
Nearby is Cawdor Castle, which was built in 1372. (In Shakespeare's
Macbeth, the witches tell Macbeth that he is to become Thane of
Cawdor.) The Cawdors still live in castle. Above are a few views of
the castle. Unfortunately, most historic sites in Scotland do not allow
you to take pictures inside.
Not far from Cawdor Castle is the town of Forres. In Grant Park, there
were floral sculptures including a horse pulling a wagon and a pheasant.
In Macbeth, Forres was the site of the court of King Duncan and
Macbeth and Banquo met the witches on their way to the town.
