On our way back to Glasgow, we drove
past the ruins of the cathedral in
St. Andrews. Work on the cathedral
began around 1160, more than 800 years
ago.
Over the years, most of
the trees in the lowlands of
Scotland were cut down.
The land is cleared and is
used for farming or
pastures.
One of my last views of Scotland was of Loch Lomond. This
is the largest inland loch (lake) in Scotland and is about 24
miles long. I was sorry that I could only be in Scotland for a
few days. However, I hope that sometime in the future I can
return to see the highlands and stay longer!
