During my second day in Copenhagen, I rode the train to Hillerod to see
Frederiksborg Castle. An interesting thing about riding around in Denmark is
that because so many people take public transit, there is lots of room to take
carriages and strollers on buses and trains.
The Frederiksborg Castle is a royal castle that was built in the 16th and
early 17th centuries. Above is a view of the castle with the formal
gardens in the foreground. In the castle is the coronation chapel for
Danish kings.
Above are some interior views of the castle. Frederiksborg Castle holds a
museum of Danish history and a portrait collection that illustrates the past 500
years of the country's history.
