Peter's Palace
Peter's Palace is located about 10 miles west of St. Petersburg. The
palace was built during the reign of Peter the Great, solely for social
occasions - no one ever lived in the palace. When the Germans were
attacking St. Petersburg during World War II, Peter's Palace was
almost completely destroyed. The Russians have done a wonderful
job of restoring the palace to its past beauty.
This slide show has four pictures of the exterior of the
palace, two pictures of the entrance stairway, and one
picture looking out a window towards the Baltic Sea.
