Peter's Palace
|
|
Peter's Palace is located about 10 miles west of St. Petersburg. The
palace was built during the reign of Peter the Great, solely for social occasions - no one ever lived in the palace. When the Germans were attacking St. Petersburg during World War II, Peter's Palace was almost completely destroyed. The Russians have done a wonderful job of restoring the palace to its past beauty. |

This slide show has four pictures of the exterior of the
palace, two pictures of the entrance stairway, and one picture looking out a window towards the Baltic Sea. |
