Walking around the city was quite an
exotic experience with new sights and sounds around every corner. One of my most striking memories was the sound of the muezzin summoning the Muslim faithful to prayer. |

visitors to Istanbul might not be aware of are the city walls that still surround some parts of the city. They were originally constructed to protect the city from invasion. |
