Sometimes it looked really dark in the rainforest because all the
big trees blocked the sun. The people in Australia know that
rainforests are an important habitat and are protecting the ones
that they still have.

At lunch, we had a barbecue at the side of a creek. Just as our
guide was finishing cooking lunch, we had a visitor - a rather
large monitor lizard. He was walking around us, sticking out
his tongue, which he uses to smell. He was looking for a free
meal. I crept through the forest to get a closer look. He sure
was big!
