I'm leaving for Australia today. I'll fly on a plane from Virginia
across the United States to California. Then, I'll ride on
another plane from California across the Pacific Ocean to New
Zealand. Finally, I'll get on a third plane to fly to Cairns,
Australia.

The whole trip takes a lot of time, a little more than 24 hours.
It takes so long because Australia is almost on the opposite
side of the world from Virginia. When I reached Australia, I
travelled more than 10,000 miles! I was tired, but excited when
I got there.
